NC Hammer—or National Capital Hammer—is an Ottawa-based construction company that values craftsmanship, strong communication, and efficiency. They needed a full-scope branding package for their launch in 2024.

Establishing The Brand Identity

Creating a brand package for NC Hammer, an Ottawa-based construction company, was a exercise focused on projecting the values of quality craftsmanship, strong communication, and efficiency. The branding were designed with two shades of blue, symbolizing trust and authority that align with their 20 years of experience. Research indicating blue's association with responsibility and reliability further supported this choice. Additionally, the colour palette was inspired by the City of Ottawa flag, creating a visual connection to the National Capital Region, their primary service area, to ensure a seamless and impactful brand identity.

The logo subtly reiterates the name of the company by incorporating the silhouette of a hammer in the negative space between the text. This visual cue is a clever addition that adds personality without compromising NC Hammer's projection of authority and reliability.

NC Hammer's target demographic consists of homeowners in the Ottawa area aged 35 and older, a group that places a high value on trust, familiarity, and quality. These individuals seek reliable and experienced professionals who understand their needs and can deliver top-notch craftsmanship. NC Hammer prioritizes these qualities, ensuring that their services resonate with homeowners who prioritize trust and quality above all else.

Company Vehicle

For NC Hammer's company vehicle branding, we collaborated with Mega Wraps to design a truck wrap that not only served as their mobile 'office' but also acted as a powerful rolling billboard. The design incorporated the brand's distinctive color combination, logo, and contact information on all sides, ensuring maximum impact and visibility. To enhance professionalism and ensure easy readability, the website was printed on the hood of the truck in reverse, making it easily readable in rearview mirrors and reinforcing NC Hammer's commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Uniforms

For NC Hammer's uniforms, we opted for durability and visibility on work sites by selecting dark navy blue, the darker of the brand's two colors. The uniforms included screen-printed short-sleeve tees and hoodies, as well as logo-embroidered hats. This cohesive approach not only reinforced the brand's professionalism and commitment to quality but also ensured that their team members were easily identifiable and represented the company's values of craftsmanship and efficiency on every job site.

Given that NC Hammer's target demographic tends to consume traditional media and relies heavily on word of mouth for service recommendations, we implemented strategic marketing materials to enhance their visibility and credibility. This included designing eye-catching coroplast lawn signs for clients to display, leveraging social proof to attract new customers. Additionally, we created professionally designed business cards to distribute among potential clients, ensuring that NC Hammer's brand and services are readily accessible and positively reinforced within their target market's preferred communication channels.
